Sustainability is the hot topic as Kingsbridge supports college’s Green Careers Week
Property industry professionals of the future enjoyed a discussion about sustainability with Jeremy Sharland, Development Director at Kingsbridge, as part of Green Careers Week.
Jeremy talked to students at HSDC’s Alton College about the work carried out by Kingsbridge and the wider sector to mitigate environmental impact.
He also discussed the business’s work in property development, career opportunities in the industry and the qualities sought by employers.
The session, part of national Green Careers Week which highlights career pathways to help improve the future climate, was the latest in an ongoing partnership between Kingsbridge and HSDC.
Jeremy said: “I was pleased to be invited back to HSDC to take part in Green Careers Week. This is a hugely positive initiative which reflects the importance of sustainability in the property industry, and is in line with our own commitment at Kingsbridge to making a positive environmental impact.
“As always, the students were engaging and prompted a two-way discussion about our work on creating outstanding places for work, life and leisure in the south, as well as the wide range of green career opportunities available in the property sector.”
Jeremy is a frequent visitor to the Alton College and HSDC South Downs campuses, gives regular talks to students, and is a member of judging panels for its T-Level student group projects.
His session was one of a series organised by HDSC for Green Careers Week, featuring information on jobs supporting the green economy in a wide range of fields of science, nature, construction, infrastructure and utilities, technology, travel, accountancy and investment, public policy and consultancy.
