MediaKind, a global provider of video streaming technology for media and entertainment, has moved into a new office in Southampton, taking space in a prime city centre location at 2 Charlotte Place.
MediaKind delivers innovative live streaming products and solutions for broadcasters and content owners and operators, enabling them to deliver high-quality media experiences to audiences across linear and on-demand services.
The decision for the move to 2 Charlotte Place was driven by their business transformation and shift to a hybrid working model. Their 7,232 sq ft office space on the 7th and 8th floors was the ideal location to create new and exciting collaboration spaces for their employees to meet and collaborate with colleagues.
The property is owned by Kingsbridge Estates and a private family office, who have undertaken significant improvement works since acquisition in 2019.
Vail Williams acted on behalf of Kingsbridge Estates and MediaKind were represented by Corep. The Cat A refurbishment was managed by Realest and contractor Vibe Business Interiors. MediaKind’s fit out was managed by Area.
Rachel Lacklison, Asset Manager at Kingsbridge Estates, said: “We are pleased to welcome MediaKind to the list of occupiers who have made 2 Charlotte Place their home. MediaKind is a global business at the cutting edge of video streaming technology, and its decision to move to our building reflects the quality of the scheme and our ability to work with tenants to deliver innovative modern office space that meets their unique requirements.”
Ronan Fortune, VP of Media Processing & Delivery at MediaKind said: “Charlotte Place, in the Centre of Southampton, is the perfect location for MediaKind’s new UK office, reflecting our position as the market leading solution provider of video technologies to operators and content owners. We enjoyed working closely with the team at Kingsbridge Estates to create a fantastic working environment.”
Kingsbridge Estates acquired 2 Charlotte Place in November 2019 and invested in major refurbishment works to create a stunning double height, glazed reception area, new business lounge and sustainability features including low energy lighting, electric vehicle charging points, and secure bicycle parking.
MediaKind joins top 100 law firm Hugh James, global financial services provider Utmost International, infrastructure consultants AECOM, planning and development consultancy Turley and the law firm BLM at 2 Charlotte Place.
Only a 2,500 sq ft office suite remains available to let in the building. The office has been refurbished to a Cat A+ specification and is fully fitted with furniture ready for immediate occupation.
Nik Cox at Vail Williams and Steve Williams at Realest are letting agents for 2 Charlotte Place.
